Get mellow with this mango smoothie
I went to the market to pick up a couple of things and of course I walked out with a few more items. There were some wonderful yellow mangos for sale, so I decided to get them. They turned out to be a bit too sour to be eaten on their own, but they were perfect for a smoothie or a lassi - a yogurt drink very common in Indian cuisine.
Mangos are another incredible fruit, just a cup has almost 70% of the Vitamin C you need on a daily basis, which is beneficial not only for your immune system, but also for your iron absorption. It is also rich in a multitude of other vitamins like copper, B6, folate and many others. It is also incredibly beneficial for gut health as it stimulates digestion.
We will talk more about mangos and their benefits - hint it's great for the skin! - in the future, for now just blend away with this easy recipe:
2 yellow mangos
½ cup of pineapple
1 banana
1 tsp of honey (if you prefer it sweeter)
Kefir (I added ½ cup but you can add more if you like it more liquidy)
1 spoon of pumpkin seeds*
*I added the pumpkin seeds for my Seed Cycle.
