A citrusy herbal tonic to cleanse the lungs
While chatting with a friend who was struggling with a sore throat and a persistent cough, I came across a simple yet powerful tonic recipe. This easy-to-make remedy is packed with immune-boosting ingredients and can be especially helpful for those experiencing breathing difficulties.
The combination of citrus fruits provides a potent dose of vitamin C, which supports the immune system and helps fight off infections. Lemongrass and ginger offer anti-inflammatory benefits, while turmeric is known for its antioxidant and detoxifying properties.
But the standout ingredient in this recipe is oregano. A common kitchen staple, oregano is rich in antioxidants and vitamin K. More importantly, it contains two key compounds—carvacrol and terpenes—that have antimicrobial properties, help cleanse the lungs, and reduce inflammation and congestion. These benefits can improve airflow and support overall respiratory health.
Sounds good? Let’s get to it!
