Too much partying? Detox with DHM
Tis’ the season when perhaps we indulge on one too many glasses of champagne! Bouncing around many pre-parties before the actual holidays start can put us over the edge, prepping us for a very much needed detox and, while moderation is key to survive the holidays, we don’t have to wait for dry January to start the detox.
In fact, once again, science has come to our rescue with something called DHM, short for dihydromyricetin (also known as ampelopsin) a chemical compound able to kicks off a metabolic sequence that clears the liver from alcohol quite fast.
DHM is derived from the fruit of a raisin tree which grows in Asia and has been used in Chinese medicine for a very long time, over 500 years. The extract stimulates the production of enzymes that eat the ethanol in the liver and convert it into a form that our body can easily eliminate.
In the long term, it also prevents two nasty consequences of alcohol consumption such as fatty liver disease, which slows down the filtering work of the liver, and it also prevents the release of cytokines, which cause cellular damage and inflammation.
That’s not to say you can binge and then simply pop a DHM pill, but it definitely helps to know there is a natural remedy that can keep this very important organ healthy.
And speaking of natural remedies, the Goodpatch has developed the Rescue patch which contains not just DHM, but also other great ingredients like Vitamin B1 and green tea.
