Save your skinny jeans for special occasions

When I was in high school Levi’s 501 were the jeans everyone was wearing. Fairly tight around the waist, but not tight enough that you felt uncomfortable, and if you wanted to get a bit more tightness the bootcut jeans were the other option. These days, even though the more comfy and baggy models are making a comeback, many women still prefer to wear skinny jeans. Perhaps a size smaller…

A few things to keep in mind when choosing to wear tight clothes is how it will affect your blood circulation. In fact, although there is no scientific evidence that wearing skinny jeans can lead to blood clots, it is always a good idea to be vigilant and listen to your body. In general if you notice swelling it might be a sign that the clothes are too tight around your legs or waist. If the abdomen area is squeezed the blood cannot travel down to the legs and may lead to something called meralgia parestethetica and that can cause numbness in the other thighs.

Choosing comfortable clothing is critical to promote blood flow.

If you spot varicose veins these may also be the result of compressed veins that push the deoxygenated blood backwards instead of up towards the heart. As a result of that the veins become swollen as the blood pools back into them creating stagnation. Cellulite may also be the result of tight clothes as the lack of oxygen in the skin may result in indentures.

With that in mind, you may be wondering why it is actually recommended to wear compression stockings when flying or on long trips where the legs cannot be fully extended. Those stockings have been designed to put specific pressure on a particular spot in your leg which promotes blood flow upwards against gravity reducing the pain that may result from constricted veins.

I personally alternate between loose jeans, which are also in fashion now, and a couple of tighter high waisted models which are also elastic and so not too tight. I take them off as soon as I get home and I wear them only on special occasions and when I do wear them I get up and walk for a bit and avoid crossing my legs for too long.

So yes,, there is no need to get rid of them, but surely you should be more mindful of how long and when you wear them.

That said, since cellulite is the result of many factors like poor diet, lack of proper hydration and hormonal imbalances, adding Cure organic electrolytes to your daily routine can help get your body the hydration it needs you and taking The Daily from Semaine can rebalance your hormones.
